Carolyn Barr
Saxophone

Carolyn Barr is an Ottawa-born musician who has performed professionally across Ontario and Quebec. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Queen’s University and a Masters in Music Performance from McGill University. She specializes in saxophone, and performs on a variety of instruments including clarinet, flute, piano and voice, in an array of settings including orchestra, big band, musical theatre, saxophone quartet, and contemporary ensembles. She worked as a musical director for a variety of theatre productions in Kingston, Ontario and Montreal, Quebec. Carolyn proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 2013-2017, marching and playing music in military and community events including the Changing of the Guard Ceremony on Ottawa’s Parliament Hill. She currently lives in Thunder Bay, Ontario where she enjoys playing in a saxophone ensemble, and playing baritone saxophone in the Roy Coran Big Band.
